I am a public health professional, Nutritionist, and Certified Community Health Worker with over four decades of experience in health education, community engagement, and care coordination. I began my career in Colombia, where I was trained in Nutrition and Dietetics and Public Health at Universidad de Antioquia, and later expanded my expertise through a Master of Science in Training and Development in the United States.
My professional experience spans international humanitarian and community‑based settings, including work with organizations such as CARE, World Vision, International Medical Corps, and United Nations Volunteers across Latin America and Africa. In these roles, I supported vulnerable populations through health education, nutrition programs, and community‑driven interventions, gaining a deep understanding of how social, cultural, and economic factors shape health outcomes.
In the United States, I have continued this work within public health systems and community organizations, focusing on chronic disease prevention, health education, and care coordination. Currently, I serve as a Community Resource Coordinator, supporting individuals in navigating complex health systems, addressing social determinants of health, and improving access to essential services.
My approach integrates public health practice, nutrition science, and behavior change strategies to support meaningful and sustainable health outcomes. I have advanced this focus through postgraduate training in Nutrition and Lifestyle Wellness Coaching at Harvard Medical School Executive Education, as well as additional training in trauma‑informed care, leadership, and suicide prevention.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to culturally responsive care, health equity, and the practical application of knowledge to improve individuals’ lives. I believe that effective health support requires not only clinical knowledge, but also empathy, lived experience, and the ability to meet people where they are.
