I am proudly a sociologist, whatever it means.
I got my Ph.D. in Sociology and social research methodology at the Università Cattolica of Milan.
I am an Associate Professor of Sociology of Culture and Communication and the Deputy Rector for student affairs at the University of Ferrara.
I teach courses on the sociology of culture, digital media and journalism.
I founded and am the Director of D/Cult, a critical observatory on digital cultures.
I research, teach, and write about media, fashion, and cultural industries.
I've taught as a visiting lecturer for several courses and institutions, including the Milano Fashion Institute and the Marangoni Institute (Italy), the London College of Fashion, the Winchester School of Art, the Northumbria University and the Southampton Solent University (UK), the Aalto University (Finland), the Universidad of Sevilla (Spain), the Izmir University of Economics (Turkey) and the Jagiellonian University (Poland).
I am a Co-Editor of the International Journal of Fashion Studies published by Intellect Books.
