Marco Scherer

I was born in Brazil and moved to California when I was 8. Grew up in the San Jose area until I began Jr. High at Missouri Military Academy. After graduating from M.M.A. I attended Univ of Missouri - Columbia. Majored in International Business, but started working as a bellman at the 311-room Holiday Inn Select. In May of 1998, I was hired into Wyndham Hotel's Management Training program and was transferred to Chicago. Upon completion of the program, I was transferred to Minneapolis and then Dallas. At which time I joined Magnolia Hotels as their Director of Operations in Dallas. In 2002, I joined Radisson Plaza Hotel as the Director of Front Office in Fort Worth, TX. Two years later, I was offered the General Manager post of the Royal St. Charles Hotel in New Orleans. I joined Kimpton Hotels in April of 2005 as the Assistant General Manager of the Hotel Monaco in Chicago. Later was moved to Washington DC as the GM of the Hotel Madera. In December of 2008, I was transferred to Vero Beach, FL and became the transition GM for the Vero Beach Hotel and Spa. After working two years in Florida, I returned to Chicago as the GM of the Hotel Monaco in January of 2011.
