Marc Shinderman

A retired psychiatrist with a focus on addiction medicine, Dr. Marc Shinderman built an outstanding record of patient care over the course of his three-plus decades in practice. Educated and trained at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Dr. Marc Shinderman completed both his internship and residency in psychiatry there before joining Chicago’s Center for Addictive Problems (CAP) as medical director in the mid-1970s. An integral member of the CAP team, Dr. Shinderman would later serve as the medical director of CAP of Downers Grove, followed by a period at CAP Quality Care in Maine. Along the way, Dr. Shinderman earned considerable acclaim for his work, receiving such honors as an Illinois Association of Community Mental Health Centers Award for Excellence, a National Alliance of Methadone Advocates Award, and the 2004 Paulo Picchio Award.
