Marcus DeGraw, MD
Dr. Marcus DeGraw has devoted his medical career to the care of children since earning his M.D. in 1999. He completed his pediatric residency at the Beaumont Hospitals in Royal Oak, Michigan, and participated in the emergency medicine and child abuse fellowship at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center from 2002 through 2003. During that period, Dr. Marcus DeGraw also held medical staff physician privileges in the Divisions of General and Community Pediatrics and in emergency medicine at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Marcus DeGraw serves on the staff of the Department of Pediatrics at St. John Providence Health System, Detroit, Michigan. He fills the position of Staff Physician, Medical Director of the Child Protection Team, and Medical Director of Ambulatory Pediatric Services. Dr. Marcus DeGraw also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics at the School of Medicine at Wayne State University, Pikeville College of Osteopathic Medicine and St. George's University School of Medicine.
As a specialist in child abuse and pediatrics, Dr. Marcus DeGraw functions as an expert witness for both the defense and the prosecution in the state courts of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. Dr. Marcus DeGraw has also given expert testimony in civil cases as well as family, and juvenile court in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. Dr. DeGraw has also testified frequently in federal court. Dr. Marcus DeGraw is a member of The Ray Helfer Society, an organization of physicians dedicated to preventing, identifying, and treating child abuse. He served on the Child Advocacy and Protection Teams of the Beaumont Hospitals and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Marcus DeGraw has acted as the organizer and Chairman of the annual “Tee Off Against Child Abuse” golf tournament in Wayne County, Michigan. This event dedicated to raising money for the children’s charity Kids-TALK. Dr. Marcus holds board certifications in child abuse pediatrics and pediatrics. He is licensed to practice in Michigan. He has held memberships in the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, and the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
