I am a public speaker and small business owner currently living in Chicago, IL. I am the Founder of Spoken Resilience. Spoken Resilience was created to Speak out about drastic issues that plague communities. Domestic Violence is one of the issues in which I will speak out from a survivors perspective.

I graduated from Wilbur Wright College in the Summer of 2010. I was excited about continuing my education. I enrolled at Northeastern Illinois University in the Spring of 2011. I decided to major in social work. I was a single parent and worked full time in order to support my family. I was determined to enroll for the next semester, but tragedy struck for me on Sept 2, 2011. I was in a violent situation which resulted in the death of my son. I took the fall semester off in order to grieve the death of my son. I decided to go back to school in the spring of 2012. Despite the heartache I felt, I knew I had to finish not only for myself, but for my son. I continued to strive and graduated with honors with a GPA of 3.67. I was able to show my resilience by speaking out through my pain. I attended different events to bring awareness about Domestic Violence. Through my pain I decided to continue my education. I Graduated from Chicago State University with honors with a GPA of 3.5. I also worked as a Correctional Officer for two years at Statesville Penitentiary.
