Hey, I’m Margaret, and I'm a teacher currently residing in the Ottawa Valley. After teaching Special Education in British Columbia the last three years, I have made the move back to my roots here in Ontario. Outside of school you can usually find me walking my two dogs, playing hockey, or curled up with a good book of course.
Reading has always been a passion of mine that I hope to pass onto my students. Coming from a Special Education and Indigenous Language background as an educator, I know that English class can sometimes be daunting for our students. It is my hope to make English class as interactive as possible, catering to those with different learning styles. As well, since the introduction of more Indigenous based literature to the schools, I have become much more passionate and interested in teaching the subject to the older grades.
Currently, due to a shortage of teachers in my area, I was successful with landing a LTO at a local Catholic high school. Though I had been contemplating upgrading my P/J qualifications, this gave me the push and reassurance to take this course. I'm excited to expand my knowledge and learn from each other.
