Margaret Landry

Maple Valley, Washington

I am a writer, a teacher, a wife, a painter, a dancer, but most importantly, I am a mother. My daughter has given me the chance to live in awe of things again. Everything is relevant and what we do matters-that we love matters. Finding a creative space for yourself is vital; if an artist can't or won't, he will slowly self-destruct & the longer he strays from his creative self, the more he'll see his art as a nag or a chore or unimportant compared to his earthly duties...a dear friend reminded me that "art is not perfect" & the creative force comes like a hurricane or a tsunami; you can't contain it or tell it what to do.
