Margaret Mbaka is the Chairlady of JCG HOLDINGS GROUP Mauritius, bringing over 30 years of extensive experience in corporate governance, marketing, human resources, and general management. With a proven track record of offering strategic management solutions to Boards and Management teams, her focus is on maximizing return on investment for shareholders and achieving excellence in corporate governance.
Margaret Mbaka began her distinguished career at East African Breweries Ltd (EABL) in PR and Marketing before transitioning to HR, where she held various roles. She later joined International Computers Ltd (ICL) as Head of HR, Quality and Communications, where she notably steered the company to achieve ISO certification in 1993, making it the second company in Kenya to attain this accreditation.
Prior to her current role as Chairlady since August 2019, Margaret Mbaka held several key positions within the Janus Group (now JCG), including Group HR and Corporate Affairs Manager (initially joining for consulting in 2000, then formally in 2002), Group Corporate Affairs Director, Group Executive Director – Operations, and Group Managing Director.
Passionate about wildlife conservation, Margaret Mbaka serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, supporting the rehabilitation of the endangered Mountain Bongo antelope. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Delhi University (1980) and has attained numerous professional certifications in Marketing, HR, Communications, and General Management.
