A notable alumnus of the University of Arkansas, Margaret McEntire has developed an exciting career as the founder of Candy Bouquet International, Inc., the world’s largest candy franchise. Margaret McEntire established the business in 1989 as a small, home-based operation. As the success of her signature products took hold, Margaret McEntire sought to expand her company. By 1993, Margaret McEntire successfully incorporated Candy Bouquet International, Inc. as a franchise business. Unlike most franchises, Candy Bouquet International, Inc. charges modest fees and does not charge royalties. Depending on the size of the operation, franchise fees can start as low as $5,000, including the cost of comprehensive training. The entire business can be run from home, from a storefront, or as an addition to an existing business. As listed in Entrepreneur Magazine, Candy Bouquet International, Inc. regularly ranks among the Top 20 Home-Based Franchises and the Top 500 Franchises. In 2006, Specialty Retail Report listed the company as one of the Top 25 Hot Franchises. Margaret McEntire graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor’s of Education in Speech Pathology and Special and Early Education in 1974. Continuing her education at the University, she came within a few credit hours of completing her Master of Science. Margaret McEntire remains a member of the University of Arkansas Alumni Association and Pi Beta Phi Sorority. In 2003, Margaret McEntire achieved a place in the University of Arkansas Alumni Hall of Fame for her achievements as a successful business entrepreneur. Continuing to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Candy Bouquet International, Inc., Margaret McEntire also maintains an active career as a real estate professional. In that regard, she currently manages Creative Capital Corporation and River Market Lofts in Little Rock, Arkansas. She also serves as the owner of Big Rock Petroleum.
