My job is that of a personal debt and foreclosure coach. I work with people who are going through difficult foreclosures, who are trying to settle credit card debt, and who are looking to rebuild their financial assets. I understand just how difficult and trying this experience can be, which is why I bring my 10 year expertise as a tax advisor and 20 year expertise as a surveyor to bear on your particular problem.

As part of my curiosity about the human condition, I have also become interested in non-verbal communication. Before you wonder how this could possibly apply to foreclosure coaching, consider the work that is presented in body language: Decoding, Interpreting & Mastering Non-Verbal Communication that is put out by body language expert Kevin Hogan. In it he talks about how our body language can send messages to the people that may affect the way others perceive us and thus the way they treat us.

When it comes to negotiating an extension on a foreclosure or maintaining the upper hand while restructuring credit card debt, I like to give my clients an arsenal of tools to get the job done. Body language is just one more way for me to provide them a service that goes beyond the figures and into the "human" element that makes up our daily interactions.

I like to tell people that I don't teach finances and figures, I teach people about their relationships with money. Knowing the technical part is all well and good, but you will never be able to apply it if you don't first understand how money affects you emotionally. As the saying goes, we are all first rich in mind and only then are we rich in reality.

What that saying means is that our mindset controls who we are, what we do, and what we make of our lives. I like to help my clients first recognize that their financial situation does not define them because it certainly feels like it does when facing foreclosure. Truth be told though, your problems do not begin or end with your finances, they being and end with your perception of self. Once you separate yourself from your material things, then you can begin to the process of regaining control of your life. In the end, that is what I really do – I help you regain control of your life and that naturally leads to you regaining control of your finances.
