Margherita Pupulin
Nice, France
Born in 1993, Margherita starts studying violin at the age of four. Curious since the beginning she complements her violin skills studying piano, harp, flute, double bass and most of all baroque violin, guided by the international well-known violinist Riccardo Minasi. At the age of 12 she is admitted at the Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi" of Turin (IT), where she studies with Lee Robert, Sergio Lamberto, Olivia Centurioni and since 2013 with Enrico Groppo.
Interested in the beauties of improvisation, she focuses on baroque repertory together with the Latin-American folklore, both rich in creative inputs and improvising challenges. Carrying on her passions all together (literature and music, poetry and musical composition) she starts her professional career in 2012, performing with european baroque ensembles (such as Ensemble Gli Invaghiti, Ensemble Claroscuro, Tafel Consort, Ensemble Elyma, Le Tendre Amour...) and specially attracted by the concept of "early fusion" (musical fusion between early music and modern folklores) which she discovers with the Ensemble La Chimera. With La Chimera she performs in important festivals and concerts halls in Europe and America (Festival de Wallonie, Innsbrucker Festival, Gstaadt Menuhin Festival, Festival de Ubeda y Baeza, Miami Bach Festival, Centre Lyrique D'Auvergne, Odyssud, Theatre de Périgueux, Abbaye de Sylvanès, Marchesato Opera Festival, Kyburgiade, Lenzburgyade, Mare Musicum...), playing both violin and viola da gamba.
She recorded her first CD ("Misa de Indios") with La Chimera in December 2013 in Pamplona for the label "La Música".
