Hi, I’m Margret.

I’m the Founder at Frutas y Verduras Mexico; food tours, classes and gastronomic experiences that take a deeper look at the food culture in Mexico through its native plant ingredients. This social benefit business aims to share with guests how food choices can have positive impact in travel, for health, culture, community and connection.

I've coordinated these experiences in Oaxaca City, Merida and Mexico City by collaborating with local "intercultural bridge-builders" . I am always looking to connect with like-minded people to share ideas on how to have a positive impact on local food systems both when we travel and when we relocate to developing countries like Mexico.

My evolution to this began while growing up – my Polish father was a great cook who loved trying new recipes and ingredients. Then, my education in design at the Rhode Island School of Design shaped my view of how I can use my creativity to affect my environment and approach problems. Over the years, I worked in food both in restaurant kitchens and as a Personal Chef and caterer in Ontario, Canada and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Aside from this, I am an expert wanderer, documentary-lover, and currently nomadic earnestly in search of a community to call home.
