MARGUERITA KING BSc DipPA

I am passionate about developing the skill-set of Executive PAs. I currently live in London, England, where I grew up. I began my career with secretarial training and progressed to become a Senior Executive PA with my own team. I left my job in 2008 to start my own business, passing on my hard-earned skills.

I remember the days when girls aspired to be secretaries and the skills that really mattered were typing speed, accuracy and tabulation. Executive PAs are now business partners and vital members of an effective top team. As founder of Personal-Assistant-Tips, It's my role to develop courses, and train and coach PAs to evolve talents and PA skills to match the business challenge.

Personal experience has taught me that the road to success is always under construction. And the goal post is always shifting in line with the needs of the business and the executive. If I could give PAs one piece of advice, it would be that continuous professional development is the key to securing future success in the Executive PA role, because the skills that are most relevant today may not be particularly relevant tomorrow.

I write and develop PA training courses that encourage PAs to think laterally and take responsibility for their own career advancement. My courses get "excellent/good" customer satisfaction ratings, and the repeat bookings reassure me that I am making a real impact on business performance. I deliver courses in the UK and have facilitated courses as far afield as Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai.

My collaboration with RetireAndGo! is an exciting opportunity to put my practical experience of setting up a business and turning an interest into a business to good use. It is always satisfying to be involved in the business start-ups of RetireAndGo! clients.
