Maria Bobkova

I am a Web Science project student at the University of Southampton.

My first degree is Automatics and Electronics from National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

My interests are in Smart Cities, urban informatics, sensor integration, how civic authorities can implement technology to engage with their citizen, and GIS integration.

I am planning to focus on the role technologies and data play in the design, governance and planning of such cities. This is an interdisciplinary focus because technologists, data scientists, urbanists, architects, decision-makers, authorities, engineers, sociologists are meant to work in collaboration to produce the most efficient guidebook for Smart City planning.
