Outside of her work and studies, Maria enjoys exploring the outdoors. She is passionate about photography and is always searching for the perfect photo op. She loves skiing in every winter Colorado and back where she grew up in Washington. Along with her love for skiing, she has grown up playing soccer and loves to kick the ball around whenever she can.
Travel is an important part of Maria's life as well. She spent last semester studying in Buenos Aires, Argetina and traveling around the rest of South America. Maria became conversationally proficient speaking Spanish everywhere she went down there. Her favorite adventure while abroad was exploring the Patagonian region (Torres del Paine, El Chalten areas). Another unique adventure brought Maria to the Dominian Republic where she got to work in a small community outside of Santo Domingo. She taught English to elementary children and help build a community center for the community.
