Maria Zilka

Maria was raised in the Midwest and grew up in the kitchen of a farm girl. This provided the background for her interest in traditional cooking and laid the foundation for her curiosity of food's effect on our health and well being. Her love of traditional food was strengthened as a foreign exchange student in Normandy, France, where once again she found herself in the kitchen of a farm girl and happily preparing amazing meals fresh from the backyard gardens and the specialized shops throughout her small town.

After finishing college she embarked on a career of sales and marketing which eventually was combined with her love of food as a regional marketing director for a national natural foods grocery chain. Realizing there was a lot of misinformation in the consumer realm and wanting to get back to her original interest in food as a foundation for health, she went back to school and became a Certified Nutritional Therapist.

She happily joined the team of practitioners at Nature Cures Clinic to share her love of the benefits of properly prepared, whole foods with all whom she meets! Furthering her education, Maria became a certified GAPS (Gut & Psychology Syndrome) Practitioner and has developed a successful program to help lead those who have suffered for years with unresolved gut issues through the healing process.

Maria is the mother of two grown children and three step-children. She and her husband love to go on adventure bicycle rides and her goal is to ride her bike across the United States and beyond!
