Mariah Richards
Student and Future Pharmacist in Hillsborough, North Carolina
Greeting, Salutations, and Good Day. My name is Mariah Richards, I am a Pharmaceutical Science major with a passion for the dramatics arts and aggressive shopping. I am an outgoing person with a very bubbly personality. I like to enjoy life and I expect the best out of everything. Most would say that I am a perfectionist, but I prefer to say that I have high standards. I believe in hard work and fighting for what you believe in. It was instilled in me at a young age to always go above and beyond. I didn't really understand what that meant at the time, but later circumstances in my life forced me to take a path that is not desired by most.
Everyone has a past, everyone has gone through different circumstances and situations that have molded them into the person they are today. However, what you choose to do with today and right now is what makes or breaks your future. A quote that I live by is "The easiest way is not always the best". Now what does that mean? Always take the hardest way possible? Work hard for everything you get in life? You decide.
The way that I see the quote is that you should be grateful for opportunities that come your way, but do not rely on "big breaks" and "luck" to get you where you want to be in life. Ever since I was in Middle School, I had to learn the hard way that nothing in life is just given to you without some sort of consequence. It is better to take the road less traveled on and take the rough road to success, than to slide through life settling for whatever comes your way.
Yes, I am extremely bubbly, I enjoy the simple things in life, however, everything that I want to accomplish in life, I want it to be something I earn. The easiest way is indeed not always the best, your path in life is your own, it is no one else's but your own. How you choose to walk on your path is entirely up to you, but know that how you choose to walk it can determine how far you go on your path and whether or not the end of that path leaves you with a sense of pride or regret.
