Hello! My name is Maria and I am a classically trained mezzo soprano and operatic singer. I am based in Devon and London but travel throughout the UK with my work.
I trained at The Royal Conservative of Scotland, where I graduated in 2010 with a Masters in Music (Opera).
Since graduating I have worked with major opera companies and orchestras throughout the UK and have performed at many of the major opera and concert venues in the UK. Including, The Royal Opera House, The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, Symphony Hall Birmingham, Scottish Opera, The Usher Hall, The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
I also sing with the Royal Ballet and Opera Chorus, where I have also performed the role of ‘Apprentice’ from Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Elsewhere I have also performed the roles of Carmen with Streetwise Opera and Garden Opera Touring Company, Hansel for ROH insights and Youth Opera Project, Mercedes (Carmen) for Scottish Opera, Larina (Onegin) with Kentish Opera.
One of my highlight has been travelling three times to Tokyo (Japan) on tour with the Royal Ballet and Opera. I work regularly with the RBO Learning and Particiiation department. Performing at Dots Days, Insights Events, Youth Opera, Streetwise Opera and Magic Flute ROH Schools Project.
Alongside Maria's performing career Maria also really enjoys working with young people both in workshops and choirs but also as a singing teacher.
Maria is available to sing for hire at events, occasions, weddings and funerals.
