Maria Luisa Piraquive De Moreno

Maria Luisa Piraquive de Moreno is the founder and chairperson of an international organization designed to provide assistance to immigrant communities. A native of Colombia, Maria Luisa Piraquive de Moreno established the organization in her home country in the year 2000.

The Maria Luisa de Moreno International Foundation aids disadvantaged Colombians through educational programs and training in professional skills. In 2007, the focus of the foundation was broadened to immigrant communities from any country of origin, and it now provides services and support in several countries, including the U.S., Mexico, and Spain.

To expand service beyond Colombia, her foundation is now headquartered in Davie, Florida, and provides various forms of aid for immigrants. The foundation provides scholarship assistance to immigrant students, grants resources to promote family stability, and offers support with work training. The foundation also provides immigrants with information about government agencies and non-profit organizations, and helps immigrants to integrate with the culture and laws of the countries where they live.
