Mariam Mohamed is an Honours Biomedical Science Candidate at Ryerson University. She has spent her last years as an undergraduate student advocating for better Science communication, representation in Science for minorities, and better Healthcare equality. She has done this through various years of volunteering through SciXchange and LetsTalkScience at Ryerson University. Mariam believes that is important to foster safer and more welcoming environments for those who believe they don't belong in STEM related fields, due to societal constructs. This will not only add more representation in Healthcare and STEM fields, but will also aid in alleviating issues that already exist within flawed systems.

As a future healthcare worker Mariam hopes to continue pursuing her passion for higher education, and hopes to one day be able to be a mentor, and role model for those following similar paths.
