I’m Mariana Santos, an open-water swimmer, nature enthusiast, and someone deeply committed to living a life of authenticity and connection. Born in the Algarve, Portugal, I’ve always felt a pull toward the ocean and the natural world. My journey has taken me across continents and through many chapters, from working as a journalist and building global communities to returning to my roots to rediscover what truly matters.
After years of leading Chicas Poderosas, empowering thousands of women across Latin America to tell their stories, I found myself yearning for simplicity and deeper purpose. The pandemic brought me back to my grandparents’ abandoned farm in the Algarve, where I began to heal—working the land, swimming in the ocean, and reconnecting with the cycles of nature. This experience transformed me, reminding me of the beauty in slowing down, embracing the present, and creating spaces for others to do the same.
Today, I dedicate my life to holding spaces for others to reconnect with themselves and the natural world. I offer:
Open Water Coaching: Guiding swimmers to find freedom, strength, and joy in the ocean.
Self-Development & Coaching Programs: Nature-inspired journeys combining sports and mindfulness to foster personal growth and resilience.
Swim Camps in the Algarve: Unique experiences blending open-water swimming, community connection, and the stunning landscapes of southern Portugal.
Whether it’s through swimming in the open ocean, exploring personal growth, or simply connecting with the natural world, I create spaces where we can share meaningful experiences and conversations. I also organize retreats that combine yoga, coaching, open-water swimming, and mindfulness—offering opportunities to slow down, reconnect, and rejuvenate. If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to connect and explore how our paths might align.
