The high points:

Graduated valedictorian, North Middlesex Regional High School, Townsend, Mass. No, I won't tell you which class. Then I went to McGill University for a Joint Honours degree in Anthropology and Linguistics and got a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in Linguistics.

I then moved to Puerto Rico, where I taught at the Recinto Universitario de Mayaguez; El Paso, where I taught at the University of Texas at El Paso; and Massachusetts. I changed from education to software development when I moved to Massachusetts, starting as a Project Leader with a language software company. Since then, I've managed multimedia development, software QA, and project management teams.

I'm a certified Project Management Professional with PMI, a Certified Scrum Master, an actor, a director, and a dialect coach.

All that means that with three bucks I can buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
