I am a Ronald E. McNair Scholar and researcher interested in sports, specifically baseball, and the impact of professional athletics as they interact with the legal system on society and the color line.

I am interested in researching the inclusion and acceptance of Latinos in American culture in society and how Latinos were (and in some cases still are) used as a buffer between blacks and whites within the United States. Looking ahead my future research will focus on and critique minority assimilation into various aspects of American culture.
