Mariano Rico is a Postdoctoral Researcher (funded by National Spanish Research Ministry under Juan de la Cierva Programme). He is with the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG), belonging to the Artificial Intelligence Department (DIA) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain.

He also was Honorary Professor at the Computer Science and Engineering Department (EPS), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).

He is creator and maintainer of the Spanish DBpedia (http://es.dbpedia.org), the kernel of the Spanish linked data cloud.
