Maria Pautassi

After earning a degree in Latin American Literature in 2004, I decided I wanted to become a journalist. Since then I have held every imaginable position in magazine newsrooms in Bogota, my home city. I've edited, copyedited, selected photographs for print-on-demand projects, translated articles, written blogs, written book reviews, written articles. Everything. And I made my way up to being reporter, blogger and staff writer for Semana, one of the largest magazine publishing houses in Colombia. I am currently a graduate journalism student at Columbia University in New York. Here I have learned multimedia skills, web design, covered education, business, crime and immigration news and honed my photography skills - a long loved hobby.
