María Wong
Nonprofit and International Development Specialist in Toronto, ON, Canada
I'm a global health and development specialist with diverse experiences including leadership, fund development, programming, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy roles in implementing, funding, and member-based organizations. Geographically, my focus has been in Latin America, Africa, and Canada, with a thematic focus on gender, health, and education.
I am passionate about locally-defined and locally-driven community development initiatives and I firmly believe in the power of nonprofits and movements to transform society, no matter the size or budget. I believe that taking on a nonprofit leadership role is a privilege and I take great pride in building and leading high performing teams. Lastly, I am firmly committed to working through an inclusive, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and intersectional feminist framework.
I'm incredibly proud to be part of a sector that works for positive and transformative social change and I enjoy connecting with others who feel the same way.
I'm available for consulting in areas including diaspora engagement, fund development, and anti-opression and equity.
Please feel free to connect and say hello!
