Marie Lamb
Syracuse, New York, United States
I have been in public broadcasting since 1988. I am with WCNY Classic FM in Syracuse, NY, and I worked for WAER-FM from 1988 to 2007. At WCNY-FM, I am the afternoon classical music announcer, and I do the weekly "Saturday Opera Part 2" show after each weekly broadcast from the Met and other opera companies. Also, I run the ReadOut service for the blind and people with visual impairments, and I do various other work in programming, production and operations. The bio photo shows me standing with the painting called "Marie Lamb, The Chatterbox," which was painted by noted American artist Jerome Witkin in 2011-2012. The chattering teeth are meant to show that I make my living as a talker; they're also fitting because I was a voice major in college! The background painting, "West Fayette Street, Sunday Morning," is also by Jerome Witkin, and shows the railroad bridge next to WCNY's West Fayette Street studios in Syracuse, New York.
