Marie Kuijken

Artistical family backgrounds and development of my own talents have grown me into who I am now: a singer-actress, fortepianist and stagedirector. Using historically informed scenic performing art both as a singer-actress myself and as a stagedirector or as coach for professional singers, I love going into the depths of both score and libretto and getting expressed intensely whatever was lied in the piece! As a pianist I specialised in mozartian fortepiano playing, having desperately fallen in love with the Stein fortepiano. The period where I feel mostly at home is 1750-1830: Goethe, Mozart, Schubert, Napoleon all lived in this period, which was one of big transformations, as is our time!
