Marie-Laure (Laila) Le Guen

Editor and translator in Nairobi, Kenya

I am an incredibly curious person who spends time thinking about the following topics:

I am a member of the Ed10 Consortium, a Kenyan thinktank active in the field of education policy and education research. I have taught middle school mathematics in Thailand and Kenya.

African languages

I hold a diploma in African Studies with a focus on Yorùbá from Inalco (Paris). Since March 2015, I've been a core team member at, the first online dictionary of Yorùbá names, where I was involved in the creation of a Yorùbá keyboard layout.

Social movements

I’m interested in grassroots organisations and the dynamics of social change. I specifically looked into universal basic income and open culture.
