Marilei was raised in the suburbs of Southern California. She is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach receiving a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies and Political Science. After dabbling with political consulting and technical recruiting, Marilei decided to change course and pursue her passion for food. She is currently the Assistant Resident Chef at Sur La Table, Inc. She is also available as a Private Chef and Caterer for Mini Donuts.

Marilei is an explorer at heart she loves hiking, photography, traveling, a good cocktail, and trying as many new things as possible.
