Marina Simeonova

Sofia, Bulgaria

Born on March the 31th, 1994 in the family of journalists, Marina Simeonova began playing the piano at the age of six with Tsvetelina Borisova in NSMDA ‘Dobrin Petkov’, Plovdiv.
From 2010 she studies with Ph. D. Alexander Vassilenko and in 2013 graduates in NMS ‘Lyubomir Pipkov’, Sofia, in his piano class.

Now studying with Ph. D. Iliya Chernaev at the National Music Academy ‘Pancho Vladigerov’, Sofia .

Her performances start at early 7, and her first recital is at the age of 9.
As a soloist, she is a winner of piano competitions as:
- First prize and a golden medal at the XVI International Youth Festival-Competition ‘Hopes, talents, masters’ - Dobrich-Albena, 2011
- Second prize at the IX international competition ‘Albert Roussel’ – Sofia, 2012
- Second Adience Award at the ‘Klaviersommer Cochem’ festival – Germany, 2013

-First prize at the International Competition for young Pianists in Tunis, Tunisia-2014

In June 2012 she receives a Diploma for outstanding artistic achievements from the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria and gets invited to perform at the 48th ‘Festival of Chamber Music’ – Plovdiv.
At the beginning of 2012 is a soloist of the ‘Orpheus’ chamber orchestra and Vratsa Symphonic Orchestra. In December 2012 she performs W. A. Mozart’s Piano concerto KV 415 in C Dur, with the ‘New Simphony Orchestra’ at the Concert Hall of NMS, Sofia.
Performs as part of a duo with Simeon Simeonov-piano (2004-2011), Panaiot Panayotov-guitar(2013-2014), and trio with Tzvetina Panayotova-violin and Francesca Formisano-violoncello (2013-2014).
Takes part in the “Pillow concerts”project- performing at the opening of season 2013/2014 and other concerts.
Participates in masterclasses of worldwide solists and pedagogues, such as:
prof. Michelle Beroff (France)-Plovdiv, 2009;
prof. Tamara Poddubnaya (Russia), Marina Horak(Slovenia) –Dobrich, Bulgaria, 2010 and 2011;
prof. Lyudmil Angelov(Bulgaria-Spain)-Sofia, Bulgaria, 2010-2012, with gala concerts in ‘Bulgaria’ Hall, New Bulgarian University and Hall 9 of the NPC ;
prof. Natalia Troull(Russia), prof. Shantal Stilliagni(France)-‘San Daniele Piano Meeting’, San Daniele, Italy; Oyvin Osse (Norway)-Sofia, Bulgaria-2012;
prof. John Perry (USA)- ‘Klaviersommer Cochem’, Germany, 2013, etc.

Founder of the ‘Little Summer Concerts ’ festival.
