Marina Guilia was born in Rome, Italy and grew up in Bethesda, MD. She spent a year at the University of Maryland, then transferred and graduated from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC. After college she worked as a graphic designer and art director in both Washington, DC and Baltimore. She wrote a children's book called "Bad Dog Max!" that was published by Chronicle Books. For the last decade she has focused on oil painting and drawing. Her ongoing studies are with Walter Bartman, Palden Hamilton and Paul Moscatt. Her work has been influenced by John Singer Sargent, Edouard Manet and Frida Kahlo. Most days you will find her at her Clipper Mill factory studio space, or possibly outdoors painting the Baltimore or Eastern Shore scenery.
