Marina Sotolé is more than just a name — it’s a fusion of roots, stories, and emotions.
“Marina,” my first name, represents my creative essence.
“Soto,” my mother’s second surname, honors the years we spent designing flamenco dresses together — stitching side by side, sharing laughter, and learning from one another.
And “Olé,” that joyful Andalusian expression, adds the soul, strength, and passion I bring to every design.
The logo, a teapot, pays tribute to my life in England, where tea time became a cherished ritual — a symbol of pause, connection, and warmth. That teapot is always by my side as I imagine and sketch my patterns, like a quiet friend reminding me that creativity is also born from care and enjoyment.
Marina Sotolé is a brand that celebrates who we become when we honor our roots and open our hearts to new cultures. Designs inspired by the warmth of home, the beauty of diversity, and the small yet meaningful pleasures that make home a vibrant refuge.
My story reflects a rich and deeply personal identity, and several core values emerge clearly:
🌿 Authenticity
Rooted in a genuine life experience — from childhood to my creative path — everything I create is deeply connected to who I am, my story, and my roots.
🎨 Artisanal Creativity
There’s a strong connection to hands-on making, to the texture of the brush, organic forms, and the tradition of working with textiles. My designs have soul — they’re born from craftsmanship and playful creativity.
💛 Everyday Beauty
I seek to bring beauty to daily life, to add harmony and joy to the spaces we live in through design. It’s not about luxury, but about finding something special in the simple.
🌸 Connection with Nature
My inspiration flows from the natural world — organic, free-flowing, and alive. This also ties into an aesthetic sensitivity that conveys calm and vitality.
😄 Warmth and Humor
I infuse your patterns with a sense of humor and lightness. This makes them approachable, familiar, and full of personality. I want to spark smiles, not just admiration.
🧵 Tradition with a Contemporary Lens
My experience designing flamenco dresses and my training in England come together in a unique blend — honoring tradition while reimagining it through a fresh, modern perspective.
🏡 Emotion and Memory
My patterns tell stories. They’re not just decorative — they’re meant to evoke emotion, stir memories, and create heartfelt connections with the objects and spaces around us.
