Mario Schaeffer

I was born in the city of Rotterdam,

I have being painting all my life just like my father Simon Schaeffer, my Grandfather Marius Schaeffer and my father’s brothers Jan and Marius Schaeffer.

In my life I had many exhibitions true out the world and attended mayor art manifestations in the Netherlands and Belgium.

At this very moment an exhibition of my work is to be found at New York’s number 6 Art Agora Gallery in the Chelsea district, all upcoming international exhibitions you can find on my website:

In March my work can be seen at the museum of Modern Art in Monreale 4 km from Palermo Sicily, i was nominated for the prestigious Trinacria Award.

In april my work can me seen at the Gallery L'Agostinia at the Piazza del Popolo in Rome.

At the Hilton hotel in londeon 7 of my painting are exhibited at the Islington location.

"Comestibles" in the Sheremetev Palace in St.Petersburg Russia, a plate at this exhibition i made is exhibited.

In Belgium you can find my work at Johan Roels Art & Design in St Niklaas.

My work is very divers;

I like to make a sequence of 3 or 5 works in related stiles of my own development and stop to reinvent myself to a new direction taking a mild touch with me from the previous series.

You could call my work contemporary but not in a direct sense, I also make portraits and other figurative work but my heart is in the freedom and intuitive contemporary Art.

In total I can say I’m an artist for more than 45 years!!

I work meanly with oil paint and take great pleasure to combine that with different kind of media like paste or even lack so chemistry has a hand in the process

Ones the basis is set I focus on lines and like to accentuate what I see and in a sense is already in the canvas what can create nice gifts in surprisingly images.

I like to subtracts the abstract to the figurative or combine that in my work.

Take distance from the traditional and set my own pace and style.
