I am a community paediatrician living in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Following 10 years as doctor in the United Kingdom, including work as Consultant Paediatrician in Northumberland and other development experience in inner city areas, I then worked for 15 years with Tibetan nomad communities in the Yangtze headwaters. Plateau Perspectives now also is starting work in Central Asia. My focus remains on helping to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of pastoral communities in high mountain regions, whether with Tibetan nomads in China or Kyrgyz nomads in the Tianshan and Pamir Mountains.
