Marisol Lang
Munich - Germany
I was born in 1991 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to a Spanish Mum and Brazilian-German Dad and two siblings. At the age of seven I moved to Germany with my family where I resides since in Munich. In 2011 I graduate from a German Grammar School with an A-Level (Abitur) in English, French, Religion and Mathematics.
Coming from a multicultural household, I have always been fascinated by different culture and languages, especially that of the ancient world.
Soon after I applied for the Undergraduate degree ‘Archaeology – Europe and the Near East’ at the at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich (LMU). There I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. During my undergrads I developed a strong interest towards Roman Architecture which eventually led to my Bachelor dissertation on the decoration and architecture of Herod's palaces in nowadays Israel and Palestine. I furthermore dealt with mediation and communication of Archaeology and History by using the internet and medial resources. Hence I fulfilled my life long journalistic ambition by publishing articles on my experiences as an Archaeology student at my blog (www.marisollang.de).
I furthermore peer review for the International Journal of Student Research in Archaeology (IJSRA, forthcoming: http://on.fb.me/1dnMcub) thus encouraging Archaeology undergraduate students from all over the world to publish their works in an academic journal.
Since October 2014 I’m a Postgraduate student in Classical Archaeology in Munich. In my first semester I spend on an Erasmus exchange at the Queen Mary University of London and volunteered at the Department of Greece and Rome at the British Museum.
