From making outfits for my dolls, to teaching other people in daycare my top techniques for drawing, I have always loved the idea of fashion design and illustration.

Currently, I am pursuing my dream of becoming a designer at the University of Delaware where I study fashion. Through classes at school I have been able to find my voice and explore different passions of mine.

As a member of the school’s club softball team I have realized that I would like to be able to design athletic wear. I want to innovate new pieces that look good and still allow customers the comfort of traditional athletic wear.

In regards to the design process my favorite part is the inspiration: crafting textile prints, the illustration of designs, collecting pictures, and scouring Pantone for colors.

So far I have been able to have two internships, one at a fashion blog and one as copywriter. Both internships have allowed be to explore the more literary side of fashion. Through these opportunities I have also gained experience in developing my fashion vocabulary and how to get the most out of social media platforms.

In the future I’d love to be working for a company that allows me to create athletic wear with vibrant prints that are as dynamic as the people who wear the looks. But for now, I can be found on the softball field, reading my kindle, or pretending to know the answers to Jeopardy.
