Mariz Sintaha

I completed my graduation and post-graduation in Biochemistey and Molecular Biology from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

I am a lecturer of the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering of University of Development Alternative, Dhaka. Beside this i am honorary teacher of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of University of Dhaka. I have taken courses such as Molecular Biotechnology, Enzyme and Fermentation Biotechnology, Bangladesh Biotechnological Research and Prospect, Protein structure and Function and Plant Tissue Culture.

I have done my thesis on identification of Quatitative Trait Loci (QTL) responsible for salt tolerance of a Bangladeshi Rice variety named Boilam using SSR marker. I identified 25 QTL's on rice chromosome 1,3,5,7,9,10, 11 & 12 associated with salt tolerance. I hope, fine mapping of these QTL's will enable us to produce Salt Tolerant High Yeilding Rice Variety bypassing the necessity of importing salt tolerant donor.

I have seven papers published in American-Eurasian Journal of Sustainable Agriculture on phramceutical biotechnology, ethnomedicine and tissue culture.
