Marjorie Hopkins was born on September 2, 1992 on Staten Island, NY. She has spent most of her life in Manhattan, attending elementary and high school in lower Manhattan, and graduating higher education with honors at Hunter College. She is a writer, baker, and small business owner, and has experience teaching, in social media marketing, in sales, and in communications.

Ms. Hopkins first became interested in novel writing when she was six years old, after she fell in love with the fantasy worlds of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. She has begun and finished four full-length novels, and is in the process of finding a literary agent to represent her work. She has honed her craft through being a mentee at Girls Write Now, in which she was mentored by professional author Lena Roy, and through the English Creative Writing BA program at Hunter College.

Her interest in baking came to fruition in her college years, during which she passed precious idle hours experimenting in the kitchen. She has attended individual classes at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. Marjorie Hopkins also has experience catering pastries for various functions and teaching baking to youth at Manhattan Youth’s Downtown Community Center. She has recently put a label to her small business, Expressive Konfections, which is expanding into an online bakery.

Ms. Hopkins’ work experience consists of filling several positions at Manhattan Youth’s Downtown Community Center, as well as from being a Government Development Specialist at SeamlessDocs. Ms. Hopkins also has experience in digital marketing. When she interned for the startup publishing company Writers Bloq, she represented authors and their self-published work online and enacted campaigns to grow the popularity of the novels.
