Marjorie Mott

Spiritual Director

For moms & moms-to-be:

Motherhood brings deep inner change—alongside joy, exhaustion, and questions we don’t always have space to process.

I offer gentle, compassion-based spiritual direction for women in this season, creating space to notice God’s presence in the middle of real life. I often think of myself as a spiritual midwifeto what God is forming and birthing within you.

My work has been shaped not only by my training, but by my own of a difficult birth experience and a deeply healing VBAC.

If you’re here from Heather Barton’s recommendation, welcome.

I am a trained spiritual director offering contemplative, nourishing spaces to notice God’s nearness.

I believe the Spirit of God is already active in each person’s life. Spiritual direction is a sacred listening practice where we slow down to notice God’s loving presence within the joys, sorrows, and ordinary moments of our lives. This may include silence (as much as you want), gentle questions, curiosity, and compassionate presence.

From a young age, I felt most alive when listening and companioning others. This led me to study counseling in graduate school and serve at a local church for 10 years. During that time, I got married, had my two children, and experienced a shift in my faith. As I searched for new ways to relate to God, I discovered contemplative spirituality—and with it, a deep love for spiritual formation.

In 2022, I completed my training in spiritual direction with Sustainable Faith. Since then, I’ve companioned women through seasons of healing, faith shifts, and life transitions—especially those longing for a new way to relate to God and to themselves.

As a spiritual companion, I use a compassion-based approach, gently attending to the body’s wisdom and the heart’s movements. My presence is shaped by trauma awareness and insights from IFS/Parts Work.

I follow a contemplative Anabaptist faith centered on Jesus’ way of love and peace, with attentiveness to the Spirit. I am a highly sensitive person, an enneagram 3w4, and someone still learning to embrace my own human fragility and becoming.

I live in Lancaster, PA with my husband and two children, where we spend much of our time homeschooling. I love historical fiction, allergy-friendly baked treats, time outdoors, neoclassical music, family board games, and writing poetry as a way to connect with God.

If your heart is longing for a slower, listening space to notice how God is already near, I would love to connect.
