Mark Gargan

Dublin, Ireland

Mark Gargan was educated in University College Dublin, receiving a B.Sc in Computer Science, followed by a M.Sc in Security & Forensic Computing from Dublin City University. He was elected to the council of the Irish Computer Society (ICS) in 2012. As Mobile Software Architect at IBM's Industry Solutions Mobile Center of Competence, Mark drives the development of native and hybrid mobile applications for a diverse range of industries. He is also the Ireland manager for IBM Software Group's premier internship programme, Extreme Blue, leading teams on exciting, cutting edge projects that push the boundaries of the IT industry.

Mark has worked in a variety of roles in software and IT covering a broad range of domains, in recent years focusing on Mobile Applications and Platforms. He is a core member of the Ireland Technical Consulting Group Affiliate within IBM, and works internally and externally as a mentor. Mark is passionate about continuous professional and personal development, and is also an active participant and advocate of various STEM initiatives through IBM and ICS.
