Mark is a competing professional and certified Pro-Am Instructor/Coach for American Smooth and Rhythm, as well as International Standard and Latin.

Mark began dancing in 1992 in South Africa and he has been teaching since 1998.In celebration of the joy of Partner Dancing, and to promote his philosophy of personal enrichment and growth through the medium of dance, he founded two dance studios in Austin.

The emphasis of his instruction ranges from Social, a less formalized focus, to Performance, to Competitive, the most highly detailed in technique and styling, also commonly known as DanceSport.

The nature of the Dance Industry is to promote the joy of the art. Mark's goal is to provide quality comprehensive education in partnering, movement, balance, musicality and rhythm through private instruction. The development of personalized methods that meet the identified needs and desires of each student is fundamental to his approach to learning.

Since 2011, Mark has been serving on the Board of Directors of the prestigious Mayfair Dance Club.

Giving back to the Austin community and participation in local charitable events is deeply important to Mark. In 2011 and 2012, he has been a featured dance professional in the Lakeway Dancing with the Stars to benefit the Lake Travis Community Library. And, in 2011, he was a featured professional in the Austin Dancing with the Stars benefiting the Center for Child Protection.

Mark is devoted to his art as an opportunity for students' growth in dance skills through his insightfully crafted teaching methods. He brings unique vision to every student's journey in dance, whether social or competitive.
