Mark Gentry, the son of two pioneers in the computer industry, is himself on the cusp of groundbreaking innovation as a start-up consultant. Mark’s 25 years of experience began with recruiting and placing computer contractors for Gentry, Inc., and extends to his innovative techniques today - currently Mark is working with Google Ventures, Greylocks, Core Ventures Group, Allegro Venture Partners and other VC's in order to help them build the teams of their startups.

Over the years he has enjoyed participating in the growth and success of many valued client companies, including Intuit, Google, Youtube, Bittorrent, Mozilla, and Tango.me, a company at which he held the position of Director of Recruiting for 3.5 years.

Mark derives great satisfaction from knowing that his work has helped investors and founders realize their dreams. Although he has earned many enthusiastic endorsements over the years by former colleagues and clients, Mark still considers himself to be similar to a behind-the-scenes stage manager, setting the stage for a company’s successful recruiting and hiring of talent. Mark’s interests are broad, beginning with his B.A. in Intellectual History at Willamette College in Oregon and an M.A. in Philosophy of Consciousness and Science at JFK and his work on an M.A. in Systems Theory and Cosmology at CIIS. Between his varied educational background and his experience gained from working with many industry leaders over the years, Mark is able to apply the same sort of creativity to his recruiting work that they apply to their technical innovations.
