50 Years young, Mark " Forest" Gibbens following on from the success of walking the 3000km length of Japan to promote quitting smoking, and then 5000km across Australia to raise money for Childrens Cancer Research is now walking across America to save children from dying from water borne disease.
Setting out from Lincoln Park, San Francisco at 8am on the 24th August, 2013 he will walk 5000km (3000miles) to Times Square, New York in 50 days or less at an average of 100km (62 miles) per day.
He hopes that people will be so impressed by his effort that they will donate to his Everday Hero donation page and raise much neede funds for the Red Cross and their efforts to improve world wide water and sanitation. Thereby saving some of the 2 million children who die each year from water borne diseases.
