After finishing my VWO (pre univerity degree) I went to the Hotelschool where I could develop both my knowledge and personality in a practical environment. Learning the theory and how to apply it at the same time is key in this study. Setting a good basis for a broad variety of commercial jobs.

My ambitious character led me to a management traineeship within one of the biggest retailers in the Dutch market, V&D. This being an ideal combination where I could pursue a career, develop my skills and apply it at the same time in my day to day job. I was trained in different fields in a relatively short period, from marketing, to buying and project management.

After 6 years I was up for a new challenge and went to VDR retail. A innovative retailer with a very entrepreneurial environment. In a challenging market and a company with lots of product focus it made me, and still does, to be flexible and adjust to every day changing challenges and opportunies. I developed my leadership skills, leading a team of twelve people. At the same time I learned to be more of an entrepreneur which requires a lot flexibility, creativity and energy.
