If ya wanna get ahead, then take the lead!

Lil T (my lovely wife) and I believe opportunity is around all the time. The problem most folks have in recognizing opportunity is FEAR of FAILURE!

I started life in Montgomery MA. In the 80's I enlisted in the Army and spent almost a decade serving. When I left the Army in 95, I took the first available job driving a fuel tanker in Texas, after 5 years behind the wheel I was looking for something better. I went to work in the pipeline industry, 3 years later I was layed off!

This was my time to overcome my fear! I was raised to work hard, the problem was, I had been working hard and now I had no work!

I ended up responding to an add in the newspaper "earned $70K to $80K first year! I thought, this is it. I sent in my resume, not really knowing what I was applying for and low and behold I received an interview!

I showed up for my interview to find out it was for a position selling insurance (crap) knew it had to be to good to be true!

The branch manager told me "well, why don't we go ahead with the interview, you are already here! I said ok, it would be good practice for the next one! As we went into her office, she said life changing words to me "you don't have anything to worry about, I don't think you could do this anyway".

Well, that was the wrong thing to say to me! I sat down and went throught the interview and I closed with this statement "I guarantee you read me wrong, there is nothing I can't do when I put my mind to it"

This started my career as an insurance agent on commission only! Commission Only scared the crap out of me, until I got my first sommission check!!!

I started in November of 2003 and was the top agent in the branch in Dec, Jan, and February.

This change in my life was not one I requested, remember I got layed off. This change was forced on me and I am extremely greatfull that I was forced to change.

I have had some great years and some bad years, the good and bad are both directly tied to my attitude. It was not my employer telling me my pay or hours were cut.

The only person responsible for my falure or success is me! The opportunity in this great country is overwhelming to me and I share that opportunity with any one who will listen!

If it is meant to be, it is up to me!

Just Do It!!!
