Mark Biersmith
Mark Biersmith currently serves as CEO & President of RoadMasters Holdings, which has six subsidiaries in the transportation and construction industries. In this position, he has increased market share both intrinsically through expansion of its customer base and extrinsically through acquisition. Prior to ascending to CEO & President, which marked his eighth intercompany promotion throughout his career including two to CEO, Mr. Biersmith served as Chief Operating Officer of RoadMasters Holdings LLC and President of its largest subsidiary. In this capacity, he restructured the company in preparation for a downward turn in the economy with the goal of maintaining profitability and improving the company's competitive position in the respective markets.
Independently of RoadMasters, Mark Biersmith manages a private practice in public accountancy. With a focus on mergers and acquisitions, Biersmith also provides expertise in developing company strategic equity options, financings, and expert witness testimony for both domestic and international clients. He leads the firm with a background that includes 63 closed acquisitions, swaps, and divestitures for a transactional volume that now exceeds $3 billion. Such transactions included both public and private market transactions. His prior public accounting years were spent with one of the top public accounting firms. His other academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Business Administration (“MBA”), Certified Management Accountant (“CMA”) certificate, a Certified Computer Professional (“CCP”) certificate, and a Mathematics degree from the prestigious Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science Department at Marquette University. He is also trained in IFRS, XBRL, SEC filings, and SOX. He is also a former partner in a private equity firm, as well as has been offered a retainer to write the "How To" book on corporate acquisitions for the CPA profession.
He has also worked on market and corporate transactions with some leading institutions including Goldman Sachs, KKR, Ladenburg Thalman, and Wasserstein & Co., and with notable corporate acquisition professionals, including former officers of Drexel, Morgan Joseph, Hearst, Los Angeles Daily Times/Cooke Media, and Hallmark Cards.
