Mark Bult
Product Designer and Creative Director in St. Louis, Missouri
I’m a freelance digital product designer and creative director working with big and small organizations making an impact.
I’ve worked with tech startups like Thanx, where I designed the product experience and brand; and Fitbit (bought by Google), where I helped the fledgling wearables company grow from 8 employees to over 80 in its first 2 years. I’ve helped other startups get on their feet too, like Cloudera, Bridgestream (bought by Oracle), and Identified (bought by Workday). Before that I spent five years redesigning various online properties for CNET Networks and CBS Interactive.
I’ve freelanced for over a decade and founded two design firms.
In other forms of this life I am / have been:
• Managing Editor of The Heinlein Journal
• Board member for AIGA’s St. Louis Chapter
• Partner in the design firm Flux51
• Mentor to teens in Bay Area Action’s High Schools Group
• Board member for Bay Area Action
• Board member for Acterra
• Leader of the Headwaters Forest Project
• Charter member of the Northern California Chapter of the Graphics Artists’ Guild
• Designer for the City of Palo Alto
