Mark Eggleston

Mark Eggleston is a Collaboration Solutions Architect at Cisco Systems with extensive experience in fostering innovation, enhancing collaboration and improving business processes. His primary focus is to help Cisco's customers develop a comprehensive strategy and architecture for collaborative tools in the enterprise. Mark’s expertise stems from 20+ years in life science, food and textiles industries. Prior to Cisco, he was a Director in Information Technology at Quintiles Transnational, a world leader in clinical research services. In this role, he established enterprise portals, content management systems and collaborative team site services for intranet and extranet using Microsoft SharePoint. The service, utilized by over 23,000 users, included on-line training, secure external access, a suite of collaborative tools, integration of back-end applications and consulting for application developers Prior to this, Mark was Director, Global IT Risk Management at GlaxoSmithKline. He helped establish a methodology that enabled the company to maintain a tailored risk/reward profile. He led a team to manage risks associated with a portfolio of over 600 external websites. This included controls over key risk areas such as security, privacy, regulatory and vendor relations. Using these same principles he implemented projects focused on electronic records management and software-as-a-service (SaaS) Prior roles at Glaxo included Director, Internet Management Services overseeing eBusiness infrastructure,information security, knowledge management and Web design for over 55,000 staff worldwide.
